Another Slip of Tongue – Fawad Chaudhry Apologises

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has done it once again.

They have once again stated wrong facts.

This time it was Fawad Chaudhry, Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

Maybe he didn’t have Google to help him out this time?

He tweeted to correct a statement he made at a press conference earlier in which he had stated loans of Pakistan standing at 500 billion per day.

The speech left many people confused as they did some calculations to sort out the issue:

Fawad Chaudhry cleared up the confusion by saying that it was a “slip of tongue”.

He further clarified in a second tweet:

People weren’t too forgiving though. He is, after all, the federal minister now. There’s no room for error when you’re at such a high post.

Write it down, people said.

Or perhaps, get some math tuition?

Was it really a slip of tongue?

Relax, guys.

Maybe he just needed a Google search.

He previously used Google to calculate Imran Khan’s travel expenses. Maybe he should have used it to calculate Pakistan’s loans too?

This isn’t the first time a PTI minister has made a ridiculous mathematical error.

Previously, Punjab Information Minister, Fiaz Ul Hasan Chohan also made an error.

He claimed that Pakistan is a victim of $1000 billion money laundering.

Abbas Nasir’s tweet explains perfectly what is wrong with the Punjab Information Minister’s statement.

Maybe they can both hire a math tutor together. It’ll save cost. Austerity, right?
