October 1st marks the start of the Breast Cancer month, celebrated globally to increase awareness about this disease amongst women.

Breast Cancer occurs when uncontrolled cancerous cells form lumps inside the lobules or ducts. Breast self-exam is an effective way to detect early symptoms of this deadly disease & makes it more likely to get cures successfully.

Here are some steps to examine your breasts properly.

Step 1: Look at your breasts in the mirror with straight shoulders and check out for any lumps, swelling, redness or any sort of distortion over them.

Step 2: Repeat step 1 but this time with arms raised, look closely for any discharge or fluid oozing out.

Step 3: Finally, feel your breasts moving your hand in circular motion. Use light or medium pressure while doing so and see if you can feel any lumps inside.

Along with self-examination experts recommend healthy dietary routines for women to stay safe from such a disease. Also consult a doctor immediately if you find any unusual marks or masses around your breasts.
